Who are we? How'd we get here? Where are we going?
Humanity has spent thousands of years building civilizations, governments, econimic systems, religions, technologies and institutions meant to make life better.
But are they actually leading us where we want to go?
In "Uncommon Sense" Gary L. Conrad steps outside the usaual politaical debate to examine a much bigger question. What have we learened about human behavior, society, government, and what does that history tell us about our future, our choices.
Conrad explores the interconnected forces that have shaped civilization, a complex system in which changing a single part can affect everything else. As socities become more complex, it gets harder to hold things together, and disaffection can increase, increasing the stress level. He tries to find the true motivators of behavoir to understand the choices. However, choices can have consequences and ulterior motives may cause those consequences to be ignored.
