I use two words to describe human intellectual capacity; intelligence and intellect. Intelligence is the composite knowledge of the human race. Intellect is the knowledge of an individual. In the ancient past, these two may have been close to the same; making fire, making cloths, hunting, chipping flint, etc. Today, human intelligence far exceeds individual intellect. Each Individual has a different intellect, reflected by their skill set. Self-sustainability was a greater trait of our ancestors. Now we find ourselves more dependent on society. Artificial Intelligence can enhance dependency and threaten individual intellect.
