We live on planet Earth but planet Earth is two worlds; nature's world and man's world. Nature's world is 4.5 billion years old, life starting only 500 million years ago. Man's world is 300 thousand years old. How short a time we have been here! The climate has gone through many changes in the Earth's birth of vulcanism and ice ages. Man's world has grown to dominate the life forms and resources of this planet. Eight thousand years ago, humanity moved from being hunter/gatherers, like the rest of nature, to farming and domesticating plants and animals. We have taken control of our evolution, defined by our creativity and mastery of tools.
